African Parks is recruiting a senior security adviser to plan and coordinate security for staff and operations across W and Pendjari parks in northern Benin.

Key details

  • 24-month fixed-term contract, time split equally between the two parks
  • Reports to the Regional Operations Manager, with links to both park directors and the head of law enforcement
  • Needs at least 10 years of military or security experience, ideally at senior operational level
  • Covers risk assessment, threat monitoring, incident reporting and liaison with state security services
  • Knowledge of security in West Africa and the Sahel is expected; protected-area experience is a plus
