SANParks is readvertising the Head Guide post at Olifants Rest Camp in the Kruger, leading the camp's guiding and trails team.

Key details

  • Supervises and coaches trail staff, trail assistants and camp attendants and draws up guide rosters
  • Leads guided activities for guests, supports guide training and plans holiday programmes
  • Keeps the admin in order: monthly reports, vehicle logs, firearm registers and the trail diary, plus stock and the trail budget
  • Needs an NQF 6 conservation or eco-tourism qualification, Nature Site Guide (NQF 4), dangerous-animal and first aid certificates, firearm competency and a C1 licence with PrDP
  • Asks for 2 to 5 years as a senior field guide or in a supervisory role in a protected area
